How to deal with artificial Christmas wreaths?
Take it to the recycling center
Your local recycling center may take your wreath. It's important to call the center ahead of time to make sure they do take the used garland. You will also need to remove all decorations such as lamps, ornaments, garlands, pine cones, berries, or any other decorations. You should also note that you should not keep garlands in your bag and that garlands that have been painted or sprayed should be thrown away.
Reuse garlands for new decorations

Another idea is to strip all the needles and sprinkle them on muddy paths in the garden.
